Miss America 2027: Crown the night with these easy watch party tips

, ,

The 99th Miss America takes the stage Sunday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. ET from West Palm Beach. Stream it on the official Miss America YouTube channel. You do not need a ballroom. You need a red runner, a snack table, and friends who will argue about the Top 11.

Set the scene

Roll a 3-by-10-foot red carpet from the door to the couch and tape it down. Keep the rest of the room red, white, and blue. Warm-white battery fairy lights go in mason jars, around the TV, and along the sash table. Use twinkle mode, not the frantic flash.

Park a sash station by the door: blank white satin sashes and gold glitter letter stickers. Guests write their own titles. Miss Couch. Miss Hot Take. Miss New Jersey Energy. That table becomes the photo backdrop later.

The menu

Serve food that looks like a pageant and eats like a football Sunday. Keep it finger-friendly so no one misses a talent number.

Crown cupcakes and sash cookies. Bake or buy vanilla cupcakes and add mini tiaras with Haniela’s princess-tiara cupcakes. Pair them with piped sugar cookies from Mom With Cookies’ tiara tutorial.

Palm Beach citrus nods. This year’s pageant lives in The Palm Beaches, so put citrus on the table. Make-ahead key lime tartlets from Gimme Some Oven. Savory orange-and-honey glazed shrimp skewers from Give It Some Thyme. A pitcher of BBC Good Food’s grapefruit spritz, plus a ginger-ale version for anyone skipping alcohol.

Cheeseburger sliders. The Kitchn’s Hawaiian-roll sliders use lean ground beef, American, cheddar, and dill pickles. Bake them covered so they stay soft through evening wear.

Popcorn bar. Plain popped corn plus three toppings: butter-salt, white cheddar, and a sweet mix. Simply2Moms has a clean station layout. Put the bar away from the TV.

Pageant punch. One Sweet Appetite’s non-alcoholic fruit punch mixes ginger ale, cranberry, pineapple, orange, and lime. Serve it in a clear dispenser with orange slices.

The fun

DIY sash workshop. Open the table as soon as guests walk in. Give them 10 minutes before the stream starts. Photograph every finished sash.

Predict the Top 11. Print a one-page ballot with the 52 delegates. Guests circle their Top 11 before the first cut. Winner gets first pick of the spa favors. Use this old-school Miss America party ballot idea as a template.

Photo ops. Park a selfie-stick tripod and Bluetooth shutter on the red carpet with a small basket of black-and-gold booth props. Shoot between segments, not during onstage questions.

State trivia. Keep a patriotic trivia book on the coffee table. Ask two questions during each long break. First correct answer wins a lip mask.

Glam favors. Send people home with lip masks, under-eye patches, face masks, and hand cream. Useful on Monday. That is the whole point.

Night-of timeline

  • 6:15 p.m. Lights on, punch poured, sash table open.
  • 6:40 p.m. Group photo on the red carpet.
  • 6:55 p.m. Ballots in. Phones on silent except the stream.
  • Breaks: trivia, popcorn refill, check the shrimp.
  • After the crown: one more photo, favors at the door.

Miss America’s Teen finals stream Saturday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. ET. The Miss America finals stream Sunday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. ET from the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Jennifer Hale and Billy Gilman host. Reigning Miss America Cassie Donegan of New York crowns the 99th titleholder.

You do not have to know every platform to host well. You need a red carpet, a citrus plate, and a friend who will gasp when the Top 11 is read.
